Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Shaun Braswell aka “Ravotica” grew up in a musically enriched household. He learned to play the piano and other instruments at an early age as well as learning to sing and music theory. While growing up in Kaiserslautern Germany, he got his first true taste of electronic and club music. He attended his first rave outside of Munich, Germany, in 1989 and was hooked ever since. From the moment he felt the first beats it would never leave his head or his heart. It was almost a decade later before he started producing his own tracks and became a club/underground DJ himself. Starting out on an old set of decks and a custom made mixer he traveled around doing shows from small parties to larger underground raves.  From 2001-2006 he took time off and gave up the scene to pursue other matters of life, and in 2006 he picked up strong again and began work on his debut album Ethereal Dreams under the new name Ravotica. In 2006 he won the MyNetwork TV Band Call Out for Best Electronica Producer, got picked up for a charity album called Hot Tails in the City to help assist in saving stray animals, was selected to be a part of MyTracks with Coca-Cola, and was picked up by Trance Fury Radio. In 2007 he was picked up by Little Mud Music, Noteborn Music, and Feature Sounds, which all do placement for Film and Television. In February of 2007 he was signed by John Harris to Modromantics Dance and released his album Ethereal Dreams in July.  Since May he has been a resident DJ of Overdrive Underground and is now releasing his music through Andromeda Recordings.  Great things are coming for this young trance artist in the future; we’ll see what is in store for him as time goes by.
